About Us: Testimonials

"During the term of our first, 3-year contract, Hawks & Company proposed a solution to solve a long standing problem we had been experiencing with the building's roof top units. Their approach was to modify specific components within the existing units and replace the cooling section of the tower for each unit. The cost of the project was to be $218,000 - our former HVAC contractors had told us that the only solution was to replace the roof top units at a cost of $420,000.

Throughout the summer, our site stayed as cool and comfortable as we expected. Not only did we save $200,000 by trusting that Hawks' solution would work, but we realized an additional savings in our energy costs by about 20%, despite the rising cost of electricity.

We are very pleased with the quality of service we receive from Hawks & Company, and that is why we plan to continue our maintenance partnership by renewing our maintenance agreements with them."

Our nursing home facility in Central New Jersey was built in 2000. We have had a couple of hvac service companies perform service here, but it was not until we brought Hawks & Company in that we realized the value that we were missing.

Upon the first preventive maintenance visit, Hawks & Company found several energy savings opportunities that had a return on investment of less than two years!

Here are some of the projects that have been performed during the first 8 months since we contracted with Hawks & Company.

  • Domestic hot water optimization project
  • Re-engineering the heating valves for the heat pump loop
  • Re-designed the control sequence for the cooling tower
  • Condenser loop pump retrofit project

We estimate an annual savings of over $30,000 with the implemented projects.

Our next project is a building automation upgrade that Hawks & Company has developed. This will enable us to monitor the critical components of our facility while implementing set back capabilities for the common areas of the building.

Hawks & Company has earned our trust and we value the relationship that has been built. Hawks & Company is more than a vendor they are our partner.

We have an older building that needed some mechanical upgrades performed.

Hawks & Company surveyed the building systems and engineered a mechanical upgrade that focused on an affordable solution while reducing our annual energy consumption for the building.

With the building being serviced with water source heat pumps, this had to be performed during off business hours. Hawks & Company implemented a weekend shutdown to perform the work. Not only was the building up and running by Monday morning, they also implemented a condenser water loop retrofit for every heat pump in the building.

Hawks & Company not only provided the best solution for our building, by retrofitting each heat pump they reduced our heating and cooling service calls by 90%.

This project was the beginning of our relationship and since then they have been providing excellent response and service to many of our commercial office and industrial buildings in the Philadelphia area.

"In the summer of 1989 our company had a problem with an air conditioning unit at one of the buildings we manage. The unit had failed over the July 4th holiday and the contractor who had installed it would not be out to service it for several days because of the holiday. As we are in the medical property management business this was not acceptable. We contacted Hawks & Company. They responded promptly and found that the problem was in the install of the new unit. Within hours Hawks had our client up and running during a very hot period.

Being impressed with the response and service this company gave us we started using Hawks on a regular basis. Our satisfaction and our clients favorable response grew. Hawks is our go-to company for heating and air conditioning needs. As we are a service based company we utilize the services of many different trades and professions. Over the years we have replaced ALL of these companies with the exception of one, Hawks & Company.

Recently we acquired a client with many heating and air conditioning problems. Some 21 Units were in a constant need of repair. Breakdowns were a nearly daily occurrence. The client was spending a fortune on repairs and service. We advised the client the problem appeared to be more service related than mechanical. With our clients blessing we fired the heating and air conditioning contractor and hired Hawks. Within a short time we all but eliminated the problems. Our client has saved thousand of dollars in heating and air conditioning costs. Everybody is happy.

When you call Hawks you get to speak with a real person who is cordial and friendly. The on site mechanics are always knowledgeable and professional. Hawks saves our clients money and time."

We had asked Hawks & Company to evaluate the central domestic hot water and heating equipment at our Collingswood, NJ senior living facility. They evaluated the entire mechanical room operations and even measured the demand of the facility for domestic hot water. I knew they were a different company when they asked for the utility bills for the past two years.

When the evaluation period was complete we were provided with a written report that included a scope of work and an estimated return on investment on all of the proposed projects. They were selected to perform multiple projects that were critical to our senior living facility.

They upgraded and modified all of the Lochinvar heating boilers, installed a new DDC control system for the cooling tower and boilers, installed a modulating high-efficiency domestic hot water boiler and removed the old 1,300 gallon hot water storage tank and replaced it with smaller stainless steel tanks.

Their suggestions came with a return on investment of less than 3 years. We have since awarded them with the preventive maintenance contract for the entire facility. Future projects include an engineered pump retrofit, design-build domestic booster pump retrofit and the installation of a DDC system.

We have asked Marty, Lou and the gang to evaluate other facilities of ours for service and installations throughout the state and they have become our preferred HVAC partner.

Upon acquisition of a multi-tenant office building in suburban South Jersey, one of our goals was to improve Landlord/Tenant relations. We wanted to be able to improve response time for tenant service calls and provide a proactive approach to making building repairs before the tenant's had to place a service call. The building's size and operating budget would not justify full time staff to accomplish this.

Hawks & Company was selected to provide traditional HVAC maintenance and service. They were able to devise a plan to provide part time staffing to respond to tenant service requests, which met the building's budget and also provided 24/7 on-call services. We are able to accumulate minor service calls for those days we have regular scheduled staffing. Emergency service calls are dispatched to Hawks via the web for prompt resolution.

Hawks & Company provided all of the general maintenance items typically found in a commercial office building. The technicians operate, as Landlord's representative by coordinating with other building vendors or outside contractors. The tenants have told us they appreciate the improved response time. As Landlord, we have come to rely on Hawks & Company to help us deliver the kind of service we expect our tenants to receive and that they deserve.
